UPDATE: The man involved in an accident where his truck was hit by a train died, according to Coroner Erin Hackley.

Hackley identified the victim Tuesday evening as 59-year-old Kenneth Ringer of LaGrange. He was pronounced dead at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center. Hackley said Ringer was going to be flown to Atlanta, as reported by the LDN, but he went into cardiac arrest before the helicopter lifted and he was diverted to the closest facility, which was Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center.

One victim has been airlifted to an Atlanta hospital after his truck collided with a train on Hogansville Road Tuesday afternoon.

According to Troup County Fire Chief Michael Strickland, a silver pickup truck collided with a CSX train at the rail crossing for Willowood and Hogansville Road. The truck was knocked into a ditch near the train tracks.

The victim was taken to Callaway High School, where he was life flighted.
