LaPorte man out on bond after arrest for impersonating officer

LAPORTE, Ind. (WSBT) —
A LaPorte man has been released after initially being arrested for impersonating a public servant, which is a Level 6 felony.

Jacob Carder turned himself in at the LaPorte county jail on Friday.
He was let go after posting a $755 cash bond.
On Tuesday, police conducted a roadside investigation along State Road 2 following a suspicious scene involving a delivery vehicle being pulled over by a GMC.
The passenger in Carder's vehicle, Brittany Stewart, had an active arrest warrant out for neglect of a dependent.
She was taken into custody by an assisting officer, while Carder's vehicle was impounded.
