An anonymous call about a man with an assault rifle prompted a brief lockdown at Troy High School on Monday. Police received a call about 2:16 p.m. regarding a man walking by the school at 2200 Dorothy Lane with an assault rifle, said Kristi Wells, a public information officer for the Fullerton Police Department.
Woman Found Shot Dead In El Monte Identified
A 42-year-old woman who was shot to death in El Monte was identified Monday by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner. The shooting was reported about 3:35 a.m. Saturday in the 3800 block of Penn Mar Avenue, a few blocks northwest of Interstate 10 and the San Gabriel River (605) Freeway, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported.

FULLERTON, Calif. - Security was tightened at multiple Fullerton high schools after there were reports of a person walking around the area with a rifle. On Monday afternoon, the Fullerton Police Department received calls of a male carrying a rifle near the area of Troy High School and La Vista-La Sierra high schools. The reports – later found unfounded – prompted heavy police presence near the three high schools located near CSU Fullerton.
