(TELLER COUNTY, Colo.) — The Teller County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) said deputies are investigating after over 60 gallons of used oil were found dumped on the side of a county road.

“This is the most recent example of the disrespect and disregard for our county, community, and our environment,” wrote TCSO.

According to TCSO, county employees found and picked up the dumped oil on Thursday, Sept. 12. Deputies are now investigating the incident using game cameras in the vicinity. TCSO is asking those living in the area to be vigilant and ask for cooperation.

“If you see something, say something,” wrote TCSO.

Any auto parts store will accept this waste oil. Whoever did this was probably purchasing the oil from a company that will also recycle it.

Definitely not condoning any actions here...but how far was the nearest waste station for used oil?
