Ball's cancelled Mardi Gras parade funds help local charities
The Town of Ball’s 2026 Mardi Gras Parade was cancelled this year so the Ball Mardi Gras Committee donated funds that were raised for the parade to two Ball non-profits: Starfish Ministries and Jake’s Place. The committee donated $4,000 Starfish Ministries, Christian non-profit that helps children and families who are going through foster care or facing other hardships, and $2,000 to Jake’s Place, an indoor playground in Ball that offers a safe and inclusive space for special-needs children and their families. The Christian Riders of Pineville, a faith-based motorcycle club, donated $200 to Starfish Ministries. CROP member Sharon Robbins, donated boxes of personal hygiene items. The 2026 Ball Mardi Gras Parade was cancelled this year due to lack of participation, according to a news release issued by the Town of Ball.
