This affects educational support staff, special education assistants, clerical staff and others who help maintain daily operations During Thursday’s meeting, OSEA Chapter President Sarah Reames said the district is using how pay increases were calculated in previous years instead of honoring the contract.
“Employees are held accountable for this year’s performance; the district should be held accountable for this year’s agreement. Past practice does not override clear contract language, and prior years do not erase obligations in the current contract. If a negotiated COLA is 6.25%, then employees should receive a 6.25% COLA,” said Reames.
The Medford School Board did not respond to OSEA’s concerns during public comment. © 2026 KOBI-TV NBC5.
