KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — One man has died in a shooting on Wednesday, according to the Knoxville Police Department.

According to KPD, the victim has been identified as Emory Johnson, 25, of Knoxville. Police responded to the 2400 block of Center Avenue around 7:38 p.m. on June 7 where Johnson was found suffering from a gunshot wound.

According to Knoxville Police, officials attempted “life-saving measures” but Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are currently asking anyone with information about a blue 2005 Dodge Avenger, pictured below, to contact East Tennessee Valley Crime Stoppers. KPD believes the car was involved in the shooting and may have been sold or abandoned in the greater Knox County area.
