Falcons soar to Blue Cross Class-3A State basketball title

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - Playing in the Blue Cross Boys State Basketball Championship game for the 10th time, Jody Wright’s Fulton Falcons showed no mercy against Haywood in the title game.

Fulton won over Haywood, 82-52 shooting nearly 65% for the game, including 8 of 14 from beyond the arc.

Taj Kimber led the way with 26 points on 12-of-13 shooting. Teammate Tyler Lee is your Class 3A tournament’s MVP after finishing with 17 points on 7 of 8 shooting. Denaj Kimber, Taj’s twin brother, had 14 points and Class 4A Mr. Football winner Marcellus Jackson added 12 points.

Fulton finished a remarkable season at (32-5) and won their fourth overall championship and first since 2016.
