woo-weekend

It is always a special moment when a driver that is not a World of Outlaws regular wins against the Outlaws. It is even more special, and impressive when a driver dominated in the fashion that Brian Brown did Friday night at the Knoxville Raceway as he led every lap and won by almost five seconds while Chase Young took the Pro Sprints class as heard on KNIA. Brown jumped from his 3rd starting position to lead by the backstretch and ran away from everyone lapping up to 19th spot. Brown told KNIA/KRLS Sports for a rivalry to be relevant, Knoxville drivers need to win their fair share.

Brown: “If you want a rivalry with the Outlaws, you need to beat them your fair share of the time, and I’m so proud of Austin, I wish it could have been 1-2, but to have that rivalry, you need to beat them.”

Behind Brown Rico Abreu nipped Brad Sweet at the line for 2nd with Sweet in 3rd place. Chase Young led all 15 laps of the Pro Sprints A-Main and survived a late charge from runner-up Kade Higday. Tonight, weather permitting, the World of Outlaws Nos Energy Drink Sprint Cars will look for a little revenge at the Premiere Chevy Dealers Clash, plus the Knoxville Championship 360s will run their weekly show. Live Track Side will air at 5:00, with Race Nights Live at 7:00 on the DeYarman Automotive Radio Racing Network on KNIA.
