The Knoxville School Board met in a special session Tuesday night.

An electrical upgrade for electrical work at Randy Wilson Track by Ardent Lighting was approved by the board.

Knoxville Business Manager, Craig Mobley told KNIA/KRLS News. “A month or so, or two ago, we brought to the board a proposal to upgrade the field lighting at Randy Wilson Track. We went with the State of Iowa contract for field lighting with Musco. With Ardent Lighting doing the installation of that field lighting and that’s going to happen this summer.”

According to Mobley the electrical upgrade for lightning at the track was approved in the amount of $22,700 at the facility, as the amps will increase from 200 to 600.

Overnight trip requests were approved for the Knoxville Softball Team to Creston and a Basketball trip was approved to a camp to Quincy, Illinois.

The board approved Allison Pleggenkuhle transfering from being an elementary counselor to being a counselor at the middle school level. The board went into closed session and approved student requests.
