The spring sports season will get its first full week at Knoxville this week. One of the teams that will get the outdoor season started this week is boys track and field. The Panthers have a lot of goals this season after winning the South Central Conference title and getting several events to the Blue Oval at State. One runner that wants to repeat all of that is T.J. DeJong. He is already looking forward to defending his conference titles, and qualifying for the State Meet.

DeJong: “This year I’m really looking forward to defending that conference title, and place at a few events at state to cap off my senior year.”

DeJong ran the 200 and 400 in the Central Indoor meet, and he will also do the long jump this season. The Panthers will head to Pella Christian Tuesday to get the outdoor season underway. Find an interview with DeJong that aired during last week’s Radio Sports Page on kniakrls.com.
