MYRTLE BEACH, SC (WMBF) - A cold front will usher in a nice drop in humidity over the weekend. A surge of drier air will bring a rain-free forecast for Friday and Saturday. We’ll see a brief drop in humidity, but temperatures will remain very warm. Humidity starts to return late Sunday, and there is a very low chance of a late-day shower or storm. Temperatures will sit in the mid-to upper 80s with mostly sunny skies.

Man sentenced in deadly Myrtle Beach hotel parking lot shooting
MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) – A Coward man recently pleaded guilty in connection to a deadly 2021 shooting in Myrtle Beach. A judge sentenced 26-year-old Ladarius Evans to 15 years in prison on Tuesday on a voluntary manslaughter charge. The guilty plea came right before his trial was set to start, according to the 15th Circuit Solicitor’s Office.
Highway Patrol investigating after off-duty SC deputies hurt in Memorial Day weekend crash

Naomi Gourdine was born in Pineville to Baxter and Ella Gourdine. Her grandparents, Benjamin and Jane Jefferson Gourdine, were emancipated during the Civil War. Her father farmed cotton, corn, and string beans on 100 acres he bought from the Montgomery family. Naomi and her three brothers— Wilfred, Edward, and Chatman—assisted their father on the farm and attended J.K. Gourdin School a few miles from their home.
2 women arrested, accused of squatting in home, stealing from Sumter animal rescue
SUMTER, S.C. (WIS) - Two women have been arrested after being accused of squatting in an unoccupied home and stealing from a Sumter animal rescue. Karen Gail Smith, 40, of Lake City, and Megan Brooke Williamson, 36, of Spartanburg were charged with burglary in the third degree, possession of a stolen vehicle, two counts of criminal conspiracy, financial transaction card theft, six counts of financial identity fraud and grand larceny.
