    A walk-off and a varsity first: Vote for the High School Softball Player of the Week

    Silver Lake Regional's Delany Moquin has been voted the High School Softball Player of the Week .

    The junior received over 5,000 votes to earn the honor. Moquin pitched well in a 2-1 loss to Lincoln-Sudbury. She struck out 14 Warriors.

    And this week's candidates are...

    Ava Donaghue + Rebecca Tse, Fontbonne Academy: Donaghue pitched three complete games this week, highlighted by a win over Malden Catholic. Against MC, she went 3-for-3 with a 2-run home run, 2 doubles, 4 RBIs and 3 runs scored. She also struck out 10 against Hingham. Tse had 4 hits and 4 RBIs in a 9-5 win over Bristol-Plymouth.

    Devon Morris, Jr., Oliver Ames: In a 14-5 win over Canton, Morris went 3-for-4 with 4 RBIs. She also drove in the winning run on a sacrifice fly in a 3-2 win over North Attleboro.

    Elsie Testa, Soph., Abington: Testa fired gems in wins over Hingham (1 earned run, 4 hits allowed) and Rockland (1 hit, 0 earned runs, 15 strikeouts).

    Tess Murphy, Fr., Norwell: Murphy hit a go-ahead grand slam in the top of the seventh inning in a 10-9 win over Cohasset.

    Lexi Donahue, Soph., Braintree: Donahue pitched a 3-hitter in a 5-3 win over Needham while also going 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and a run.

    Delaney Moquin + Madyson Bryan, Silver Lake: In a 16-0 win over Hanover, Moquin earned the win in the circle with 6 strikeouts and drove in 4 RBIs and blasted a home run. Bryan went 3-for-4 with 3 RBIs. Bryan went 4-for-4 in a 12-0 win over Marshfield while Moquin went 3-for-4. Moquin allowed 1 hit and struck out 12.

    Lauren Trostel + Kaylee Gendron, Plymouth South: Both Panthers starred in an 8-0 win over Plymouth North. Trostel went 4-for-4 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs scored while Gendron also scored twice to go with 2 hits. Gendron tallied 14 strikeouts in the circle.

    Chloe Martin, Fr., Bridgewater-Raynham: Martin pitched her varsity shutout in a 13-0 win over Brockton in 5 innings. She allowed 2 hits, walked none and struck out 8.

    Shannon MacLeod, Sr., Notre Dame Academy: MacLeod earned the win in the circle and went 4-for-5 with 5 RBIs in a 15-6 win over Fontbonne Academy.

    Candace Sumner, Sr., Archbishop Williams: Sumner delivered a walk-off RBI groundout in a 4-3 win over Braintree.

    Allie Blanchard, South Shore Tech: Blanchard went 4-for-5 with a home run and 3 RBIs in a 17-9 loss to Norfolk Aggie.

    Bilyana Wilkin, Jr., Hingham: Wilkin tossed a 4-hit shutout with 6 strikeouts in an 8-0 win over Whtiman-Hanson.
