Demolition permit issued for Westside Inn

KINGSPORT, Tenn. (WJHL) — Demolition of the former Westside Inn is scheduled to begin next week.

A demolition permit was approved Monday by the City of Kingsport.

According to a document attached to the permit, demolition is scheduled to begin on June 19 and be complete by Aug. 19. The document notes that asbestos fibers were observed on the property. Asbestos removal is scheduled for June 17–18.

The demolition is to make way for a new Friendship Kia dealership that will be built on the property.
