Group designing billboard in support of local law enforcement

A local group of citizens have banded together to thank the Kingsport Police Department and the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office in a billboard, pictured above. The Kingsport Police Department received a rendering of the billboard this week, which will be located at four different locations. Tom Patton, spokesman for the Kingsport Police Department, said there is an opportunity for more than 609,000 views per week. Lamar Signs is designing the billboard for no charge. Patton said the citizens group was organized by Mary Cowden. The group of citizen supporters also supplies the Kingsport Police Department multiple snacks throughout the week and created yard signs and vehicle decals to voice support for law enforcement, Patton said.
