Several Local Individuals Injured in Three Separate Sunday Traffic Crashes

Four people from our region were injured in three separate traffic crashes Sunday in Minnesota.

The State Patrol reports around 4:45 PM Sunday, a Wright County man was injured in a motorcycle incident in Kimball in neighboring Stearns County. Authorities say a Yamaha motorcycle was westbound on Highway 55 at Maus Drive in Kimball when the bike had a mechanical issue resulting in a crash. The motorcycle rider, 36-year-old Jared Bakeberg of Howard Lake sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated at the St. Cloud Hospital. The Stearns County Sheriff’s Office, and the Kimball Ambulance and Fire Department assisted at the scene.

 

A Buffalo man was injured Sunday in an SUV vs. pickup crash near Onamia in Mille Lacs County. The State Patrol reports around 2 PM, a Lincoln SUV was traveling southbound on Highway 169 near the intersection of Highway 27. Meanwhile, a Toyota pickup was crossing the southbound lanes of Highway 169 from west to east, and failed to yield to the SUV, resulting in a crash. The driver of the SUV, 76-year-old Gary Chaffins of Buffalo had non-life threatening injuries and was treated at the Onamia Hospital. The driver of the pickup, 95-year-old Ralph Ganz of Rice, Minnesota, also had non-life threatening injuries and was treated at the Onamia Hospital. The Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Office and the Onamia Fire Department assisted the State Patrol.

 

Two Meeker County motorcyclists were involved in a road crash early Sunday afternoon in Pope County. The State Patrol reports that just after 1 PM, two motorcycles were westbound on Highway 55 near Glenwood when they collided at the intersection with Pope County Road 23. Authorities say the rider of one of the two Harley-Davidson machines, 47-year-old Jeramie Linsmeier of Litchfield had non-life threatening injuries that did not require hospital treatment. The other rider, 49-year-old Joel Engler, also of Litchfield, sustained non-life threatening injuries, and was treated at the Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood. The Pope County Sheriff’s Office, the Glenwood Police and Fire Departments, and the Glacial Ridge Ambulance responded to the crash along with the State Patrol.
