HONOLULU (KHON2) — The Hawaii Department of Health (DOH) is alerting residents about a recall from KTM Services, Inc. affecting its Enjoy Premium Taro Cookie and Enjoy Premium Coconut Cookie products.

The recall was issued because the labels do not indicate that these cookies may contain milk, which can pose a serious allergen risk.

These cookies were distributed across Hawaii in stores like CVS Longs, Don Quijote, Navy Exchange, Target, Times Supermarkets, and Walmart.

The Hawaii Department of Health (DOH) is alerting residents about a recall from KTM Services, Inc. affecting its Enjoy Premium Taro Cookie and Enjoy Premium Coconut Cookie products.

They were also available through mail order. The affected packages come in 5.3-ounce and 17.7-ounce sizes and have a “best by” date between September 12, 2024, and August 7, 2025, printed on the top.

KTM Services is already working on repackaging the products with accurate labels and the DOH is ensuring that the recalled items are off store shelves.

For those with milk allergies or severe sensitivities, consuming these cookies could lead to serious reactions, including symptoms like hives, digestive issues, or even asthma attacks.

In extreme cases, milk allergies can trigger anaphylaxis, which narrows the airway and requires immediate medical attention.

Symptoms of anaphylaxis include throat tightness, difficulty breathing, and severe drops in blood pressure.

If you have consumed the recalled cookies and have a milk allergy, it’s important to notify your healthcare provider.

Should you experience signs of anaphylaxis, use an epinephrine autoinjector if available and call 911 right away.

The DOH advises anyone who purchased these products to check their kitchens. If you have cookies from the recall, do not eat them, and return them to the store for a full refund.

For more information, consumers can reach out to KTM Services, Inc. at 808-845-8089.
