MIDWEST CITY, Okla. ( KFOR ) — Midwest Police have arrested three people in connection to the shooting in a Midwest City park that killed 14-year-old Deh’maurieon Denmark.

Zantayvean Dayvon Smith, 18, and two juveniles — ages 16 and 17 — were arrested Wednesday night.

The arrest affidavit also details more of what allegedly happened Sunday night.

“We heard, I think, three or four gunshots go off. And he came out and just asked me, did you hear that,” said a neighbor who lives in the area.

The court papers explain that the victim, Denmark, planned to meet the 17-year-old suspect at Tom Poore Park.

During the investigation, the car driven by the 17-year-old was found at Star Spencer High School.

According to police, the suspect claimed a gun would not be found during a search of the car. However, investigators found a pistol in the vehicle after all.

Court papers also explain the shell casings that officers found at the scene, did not match the weapon found in the suspect’s car.

During Smith’s interview, officers were told the 17-year-old suspect was going to meet someone at the park to “do a deal.”

Smith said he also heard the 17-year-old yell “he’s got a gun.”

Court documents go on to detail that during the interview with police, Smith said the 17-year-old had a gun and also allegedly claimed he saw Denmark with a gun, but wasn’t sure who fired the shots.

However, later in the court documents, a 16-year-old suspect, who claims he was on the other side of the park during the shooting, told officers Denmark did not have a weapon.
