STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Police arrested a 14-year-old boy in connection with the slashing of a 19-year-old at a popular shopping center in Eltingville. The assault occurred in front of the Greenridge Plaza at 3275 Richmond Ave. on Tuesday at about 6:55 p.m., according to a spokesman for the NYPD.

Perth Amboy police have arrested 24-year-old man charged with slashing a man and cutting off some of his fingers during a violent attack under the Victory Bridge days earlier. Ziyare Palmer has been charged with attempted murder, weapons offenses and motor vehicle theft in what Perth Amboy police described as a domestic violence assault.
Pedestrian Killed South Amboy
The man's name has not been released pending notification of next of kin, South Amboy police said on Wednesday, April 24. On Wednesday, April 17 at approximately 4:15 p.m. South Amboy police responded to the intersection of South Broadway and John Street for a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Police found a male victim lying in the roadway and began life-saving efforts. The victim was taken to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
