KEYS HOLIDAY EVENTS TO SPARKLE WITH LIGHTS AND SUBTROPICAL WARMTH
From Key Largo to Key West, the 2023 holiday season features lighted boat parades, frivolity, waterfront celebrations and other island festivities. Nov. 28-Dec. 2: Zonta’s Festival of Trees. Marathon. The Zonta Club of Marathon offers a free-admission display of decorated trees at its 13th annual Festival of Trees at Marathon Garden Club, 5270 Overseas Highway. View and bid to purchase the decorated trees from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 3:30 to 10 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday. Kids can enjoy cookies with Santa and the Grinch Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. A Private Island In The Florida Keys Hits The Market For $2.5 Million
If you’ve ever dreamed of living on your own private island, there’s one in the Florida Keys that has hit the market for $2.5 million. Even though I live in paradise here in Fort Myers, sometimes I dream of what it would be like to have my own private island. I went out over the weekend to do some shopping and it didn’t last long because there were way too many people. So a private island, while there wouldn’t be stores to shop at, would definitely have a lot less going on. But seriously, picture waking up each morning to the sun rising over the water. Taking a stroll on a beach where the only footprints left are your own. Where your morning commute involves jumping on a boat, a paddleboard or a kayak and your only neighbors are dolphins and manatees. I feel like private island life is a life for me.

The renowned Hemingway Distillery in Key West marked a significant milestone by hosting a party celebrating its inaugural Hemingway Rye Whiskey barrel pick. Celebrity whiskey connoisseur and writer Fred Minnick, along with members of his whiskey club, made the selection. The event further solidified the distillery’s commitment to innovation and quality, as they continue to collaborate with industry experts and enthusiasts alike. Terry O’Connor, Fine Wine & Spirits Specialist, CDI, and his wife, Rhea, were among the guests celebrating the whiskey selection with the Hemingway Rye sales team.
