Three people wanted after 8 kinds of drugs found in Palestine home

PALESTINE, Texas ( KETK ) – The Palestine Police Department is searching for three people after several different kinds of drugs were found in a home on Texas Avenue recently.

According to a Palestine PD press release, Jerryl Mims Sr, 51, was arrested by a detective from the Palestine PD Street Crimes Unit on Thursday, Aug. 29 after leaving his house on Texas Avenue.

The detective was reportedly familiar with Mims and found a warrant for his arrest for failure to maintain financial responsibility.

Mims was reportedly clutching a bag of suspected methamphetamines and had another bag of suspected methamphetamine in the seat of his vehicle. In total, Palestine PD said he had over 13 grams of methamphetamine.

A search warrant was conducted at Mims’ home on Texas Avenue and the following amounts of drugs were reportedly found there:

• 4.5 ounces of methamphetamine
• approximately 9.4 grams of rock cocaine
• over 25 grams of MDMA (Ecstasy)
• approximately 13 grams of PCP, mostly packed in small vials
• approximately 6.8 ounces of marijuana
• about 4 grams of Alprazolam (Xanax)
• 8 grams of Hydrocodone
• 5.5 ounces of K2

Digital scales, packaging materials and a handgun stolen from a vehicle in 2023 were also reportedly found in the home.

Mims was arrested for the failure to maintain financial responsibility charge but later bonded out and is now wanted for three counts of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance between 4 and 200 grams in penalty group 1, one count of manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance between 4 and 200 grams in penalty group 2, possession of marijuana between 5 pounds and 4 ounces, possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 3, possesion of a dangerous drug and theft of a firearm.

Additionally, Palestine PD also obtained warrants for Eric Hill, 48 of Palestine, and Latonya Gaston, 46 of Palestine. Hill and Gaston are both wanted for manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance between 4 and 200 grams in penalty group 1.
