Adopt a furry friend at no cost at this Tyler shelter

TYLER, Texas ( KETK ) – Don’t let August slip away before taking advantage of a Tyler animal shelter’s no-cost adoption offer.

The Tyler Animal Control and Shelter said people can bring a donation of six white towels or six fleece blankets and get their adoption fees waived.

“The towels and blankets will be used for animals at the shelter. Blankets that are 50″ x 60″ are preferred to fit a pet’s kennel,” Tyler Animal Services said.

The free adoption offer with a donation will run through the month of August and the shelter said all the animals are spayed or neutered, microchipped and vaccinated.

Typically, the adoption fee of a dog is $120 and $80 for cats. The shelter, located on 4218 Chandler Hwy, is open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
