Governor Andy Beshear was among those remembering the fallen Monday with a Memorial Day message.
He noted that approximately 10,000 Kentuckians have paid the ultimate price defending freedom during times of conflict.
The governor says it’s the responsibility of the rest of us to remember and honor their sacrifice.
Flags were at half-staff across Kentucky for the Memorial Day observance.
