Kennebunk beach back open after officials say bacteria levels have dropped

KENNEBUNK (WGME) -- Gooch's Beach in Kennebunk has reopened after it was closed Friday due to high bacteria levels.

Elevated bacteria levels were detected on Thursday. According to the Maine Healthy Beaches Dashboard, Gooch's was under the contaminated category.

The beach was retested and opened Friday afternoon.
