According to the Buffalo County Sheriff's Office (BCSO), a Kearney man died following a single-vehicle crash that occurred near 160th on Poole Road, northeast of Kearney, at approximately 7:00 PM, Tuesday, May 23.

BCSO has identified the victim as Scott King, a 42-year-old resident of rural Kearney.

Officials said, a southbound pickup truck veered off the road and collided with a power pole in the east ditch. King was found deceased in the road ditch, located approximately 100 yards away from the truck.

The Buffalo County Attorney's Office has ordered an autopsy to further aid the ongoing investigation.
