BBQ fundraiser benefits Kearney parks scholarships

KEARNEY — A barbecue fundraiser called Pork for Parks will be held in Kearney in conjunction with the Second Saturdays farmers market event at 5 p.m. June 10, in the parking lot at Missouri Highways 33 and 92.

“The Tri-R-BBQ team will be selling pulled pork sandwiches along with a soda/water and chips. They’ll be donating all profits to the Kearney Parks & Rec. scholarship fund, which helps kids in need have an opportunity to play sports,” reads a Facebook event post about the fundraiser. “You can help by bringing your appetite and buying an award-winning BBQ sandwich and by telling your friends.”
