WARRENSBURG — Kearney track and field in the competed in the Class 4 Sectional 4 Championship hosted by Warrensburg High School on Saturday, May 20. The top four participants in each event qualified for this weekend’s Class 4 State Championship.
Girls Soccer Loses to Lafayette After Hard-Fought Battle
The Eagles girls soccer team put up a good fight in their state quarterfinal match against Lafayette (Wildwood) but unfortunately could not manage to advance. Liberty’s varsity squad played the Lancers on Saturday night, May 27, after being crowned district champions following their 3-0 triumph in the final versus Francis Howell Central on May 19. It was their first district title since 2019 and the second in school history.

Liberty track and field competed in the Class 5 Sectional 4 Championship hosted by Staley on Saturday, May 20. The top four participants in each event qualified for this weekend’s Class 5 State Championship. The boys and girls team finished in third place each in the event. The boys team scored 71.50 points and the girls team scored 67 points.
