Karnes County man arrested for multi-county theft spree, over $100,000 worth of stolen goods recovered
KARNES COUNTY, Texas - Authorities arrested a man connected to a string of thefts and stolen vehicles that happened over the last two weeks. Clint Michael Kunschik, 32, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with two counts of felony theft of $30,000-$150,000, one county of felony theft of $2,500-$30,000, as well as possession of controlled substance.

South Texas County Has Three Earthquakes Less Than 4 Hours
While tremors in Texas sound like an anomaly, they are actually more common than you think. Especially in areas where oil and gas production are happening. Three earthquakes happened in Karnes County on Monday, September 11th. According to KSAT12, The first was reported at 3:07 p.m., about 11 miles southeast of Stockdale, magnitude of 3.2. The second one, with a magnitude of 3.1, was measured about 10 miles northeast of Falls City at 6:49 p.m. Just 7 minutes later another earthquake measuring 2.8 happened at the same exact location.

Instruction: If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. A strong thunderstorm is expected to affect parts of southwestern DeWitt, northeastern Karnes, southwestern Gonzales, and east central Wilson Counties until 5:45 PM CDT. Doppler radar detected this storm near Gillett, or near Kosciusko, moving southeast at a speed of 15 mph. The storm is anticipated to bring wind gusts of up to 50 mph and hail of about half an inch. The source of this information is radar data. The potential impact of this storm includes the possibility of gusty winds causing tree limbs to fall and unsecured objects to be blown around. There may also be minor damage to outdoor objects. The locations that will be affected include Kosciusko, Nixon, Smiley, Nordheim, Pandora, Gillett, Westhoff, Cotton Patch, Gruenau, New Davy, Ecleto, and Sample. The maximum size of hail expected is 0.50 inches, while the maximum wind gusts could reach 50 mph.

4.0-magnitude earthquake rattles Karnes County on Thursday; 4th quake this week
KARNES COUNTY – Karnes County experienced its fourth earthquake this week — and this one was actually strong enough to be felt in neighboring Wilson County. The United States Geological Survey confirmed a 4.0 magnitude quake struck at 1:50 p.m. on Thursday, about 11 miles northeast of Falls City.

DENHAWKEN, Texas — A 4.1 magnitude earthquake was reported in Karnes County Thursday afternoon, according to data from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). The earthquake was recorded at 1:50 p.m. and had a depth of 5.4 kilometers. The nearest town to the site of the earthquake is Denhawken, Texas, near Stockdale.
