Homicide victim located Saturday morning in 2000 block of Wheeling Avenue

UPDATE, 6:19 P.M. | The victim has been identified as Philip Croft, 50, according to a spokesperson with the Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department.

ORIGINAL STORY, 6:58 A.M. | The Kansas City, Missouri, Police Department is investigating a homicide Saturday morning in the 2000 block of Wheeling Avenue.

KCPD responded to a reported homicide shortly before 6 a.m. and located an unresponsive adult male lying in a parking lot of an apartment complex who had been shot.

The man was pronounced dead at 6:15 a.m., per KCPD.

Police say the circumstances leading to the homicide are not known at this time.

No suspects are currently in custody.
