The White House knows how to provide a feast fit for champions. Andy Reid certainly appreciated the meals served the Super Bowl champion Chiefs this week.
The Kansas City head coach, who is known for his iconic quotes about food, had effusive praise for what the Chiefs were served during the D.C. celebration of the team's Super Bowl 57 title.
"The French toast, grilled cheese and ham sandwich that they sprinkled a little bit of powdered sugar on, I mean, it was phenomenal," Reid said. "There was an abundance of this. And then they had chicken fingers, exotic chicken fingers, and then maybe the best part was they had, which I hadn't seen before, but little bite-size squares of the heart of the watermelon."

Reid has spoken often of his fondness for cheeseburgers. After Kansas City beat the 49ers in Super Bowl 54, he said he was going to celebrate with "the biggest cheeseburger you've ever seen."

And in 2022, when Christmas came along, his players wrapped a cheeseburger and put it in a shoebox.
"May you all get a gift as great as this," Reid told the players. "Cheeseburgers in paradise, baby."

This White House feast — the first for the Chiefs after their earlier Super Bowl celebration was called off due to the COVID-19 pandemic — will be memorable. But knowing Reid, he's going to do everything he can to make sure the team goes back.
When the Chiefs won Super Bowl 54, he had the perfect quote for how to avoid resting on one's laurels.
"If you like chocolate cake and you eat a piece, and then you have one dangling in front of your face, you're probably going to want to eat that, too," Reid said.
