The Kansas City Current and the Kansas City Royals say they are teaming up to celebrate the start of their 2023 seasons.
Flags for both teams are up at the Country Club Plaza, Kansas City Sister Cities International Bridge and other locations ahead of their home openers.
Royals Opening Day is on March 30, and the Current home opener is scheduled for April 1.
The Royals take on the Minnesota Twins at 3:10 p.m. CT this Thursday. Gates open at noon, and the pre-game concert, featuring Brothers Osborne, will start at 1 pm. Tickets are still available.
The Kansas City Current is encouraging all fans to #PackThePark for the club’s home opener, a rematch of the 2022 NWSL Championship. The match will kick off at 11:50 a.m. CT on April 1. Ticket information for that match can be found on the Current's website.
Until the club's new stadium is complete along KC's riverfront, the Current will play their home games at Children’s Mercy Park.
Additionally, the teams are asking fans to show their KC sports pride by wearing blue on Thursday, March 30, and wearing teal on Friday, March 31.
