11TH. WE’RE FOLLOWING BREAKING NEWS AND GETTING NEW INFORMATION ON A POLICE HOMICIDE CASE IN A SOUTHEAST KANSAS CITY NEIGHBORHOOD. OFFICERS WERE CALLED THIS AFTERNOON TO A HOUSE ON NEWTON, NORTH OF 99TH, WHERE THEY FOUND A TEENAGE BOY WITH A GUNSHOT WOUND. HE WAS TAKEN TO A HOSPITAL WHERE HE DIED. Kansas City police are investigating a homicide in the 9800 block of Newton Avenue. The fatal shooting was reported just before 2 p.m. on Tuesday near Bennington and E. 99th Street. Kansas City police say the victim is a teenager, who was identified Tuesday night as Darrell Weldon, 17. No arrest has been made. Police are still investigating the circumstances of the shooting. Kansas City police are investigating a homicide in the 9800 block of Newton Avenue.
The fatal shooting was reported just before 2 p.m. on Tuesday near Bennington and E. 99th Street.
