THAT’S COMING UP. WE ARE FOLLOWING BREAKING NEWS TONIGHT IN KCK, WHERE A WOMAN WAS HIT AND KILLED BY A CAR. THIS HAPPENED ABOUT 3:00 TODAY AT NORTH 10TH STREET AND CENTRAL AVENUE. POLICE SAY THE WOMAN WAS TRYING TO CROSS THE STREET AT THE LIGHT WHEN SHE WAS HIT. THE DRIVER INITIALLY TOOK OFF, BUT POLICE CAUGHT UP WITH THEM LATER.

Police say the woman was attempting to cross the street at a traffic light in the area.

Police have identified a woman that died after being struck by a vehicle Monday afternoon.63-year-old Gayla Ann Freeman was hit by a car near 10 Street and Central Ave in Kansas City, Kan. Police say the driver is cooperating with police after the vehicle initially left the scene. The incident happened around 3:10 p.m. on Monday. KCK police say the woman was attempting to cross the street at a traffic light in the area. Freeman was rushed to the hospital but later died. Police are still investigating the case. This incident is under investigation by the KCKPD Traffic Division. Anyone who may have been a witness or has any information about this incident is urged to call the Crime Stoppers TIPS hotline at 816-474-TIPS (8477).
