A 22-year-old Kalamazoo resident was arrested on multiple felony charges Tuesday, according to the Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety, or KDPS.
Police responded to a report of multiple gunshots near Washington Avenue and James Street around 11:55 p.m., KDPS said.
Officers also heard gunfire a short distance away and responded, the department said.
A description of the suspect vehicle was announced county wide and found a short time later by a deputy with the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office, police said.
Four firearms related to the shots fired call were seized from the traffic stop, police said.
The driver, Trayon Henderson, 22, is being held at the Kalamazoo County Jail on the following charges:
- Assault with intent to murder
- Felony firearm
- Discharging a weapon from a vehicle
- Felony firearm
