Kalamazoo man pleads guilty to killing longtime friend over $80
KALAMAZOO, MI — A 37-year-old Kalamazoo man who shot and killed a man he’d known 20 years in May 2022 has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder. Michael Anthony Tolliver pleaded guilty on Thursday, Nov. 9, to one count of second-degree murder and one count of weapons felony firearm for the May 2022 shooting death of David William Brown, Jr., 34.
Pileup Involving Semi Hauling Cattle Snarls US-131 Near Martin
MARTIN TWP., MI (WHTC-AM/FM, Nov. 22, 2023) – A three-vehicle pileup that included a semi hauling cattle snarled US-131 north of Martin late on Tuesday night. Allegan County Sheriff’s Sergeant Blair Kacos wouldn’t disclose any information about the motorists involved or what led to the crash around 10:30 PM in the southbound lanes. When deputies arrived at the scene near the 55 mile marker, just before the 116th Avenue (M-222) exit, they were able to get all of the motorists out of their vehicles for treatment of their injuries.
Antisemitic message spray painted on former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel's Michigan home
CHICAGO (CBS)-- Vandals left antisemitic messages on former Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel's Michigan home. According to the Anti-Defamation League of Michigan, Emanuel's property and the Chabad of Kalamazoo, a Jewish organization, were both targeted. The word "NAZIS" was spray painted on a fence outside Emanuel's home and swastikas were found on the Chabad property. The ADL Michigan said they are "Disgusted by antisemitic vandalizations" and "urge both incidents be investigated as potential hate crimes."
