New Prague golfers shine at White Bear YC
The New Prague High School boys’ golf team enjoyed its best showing of the year Monday, finishing second at White Bear Yacht Club. The Trojans finished a 12-team tournament in second place with a 312, just five shots off the top spot. Hill Murray won the event at 307, followed by the Trojans. Wayzata, finished third at 316, followed by Champlin Park (318), Totino-Grace (319), Buffalo (320), Simley (328), St. Michael-Albertville (329), Orono (332) and Hastings (334).
Westonka names Yost-Haddorff-Leopold Award winner
Mound Westonka High School is proud to name senior Jack Nelson as the 2024 male recipient of the Yost-Haddorff-Leopold Award. Other nominees for the annual outstanding male athlete award were Brett Bartkowicz, Connor Esposito, Jack Markstrom, Lucas Markstrom, Mikey Oftedahl, Charlie Paul and Carter Reinbold. Minnesota murder convict, who went on the run before verdict, sentenced
MINNEAPOLIS (FOX 9) - The Bloomington man who walked out of court before the verdict could be read in his murder trial over a fatal overdose was finally sentenced on Thursday. Michael Harlan was found guilty in absentia in 2023 in the overdose death of 29-year-old Cole Linnell. Linnell died after Harlan sold him fentanyl pills that police said were sold under the pretense of being Oxycodone.

DNR recognizes record shovelnose sturgeon
Anglers recently caught two shovelnose sturgeon that the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources recognized in quick succession as state records in the catch-and-release category based on length of the fish. Tyler Young, of Lakeville, caught and released a 34 1/4 inch shovelnose sturgeon March 8 on the Mississippi River.
