Stolen trailer from Jonesboro located in Louisiana

JONESBORO, Ark. – A felony theft reported to the Jonesboro Police Department this week involved property that was later located in Louisiana.

Police received the report online, with the victim, 28, of Memphis, stating that his trailer had been stolen sometime between the beginning of the year and March 21 from 3711 S. Stadium Boulevard.

The trailer was described as a black enclosed Eagle cargo trailer 7′ by 16′ in measurement. It was valued at $8,900, a felony amount.

The victim notified Jonesboro police on March 23 that he had been contacted by St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Department, which Google shows to be in Opelousas, Louisiana. They had located his trailer.

It wasn’t clear from the report made with JPD if any suspects were in the case. In Arkansas, theft of property or services valued between $5,000 and $25,000 constitutes a Class C felony, which carries a sentence of three to 10 years in prison (source).
