Man Found Shot in Head on Joliet Streets Dies in ER

JOLIET, Ill. – A 20-year-old man lost his life on Monday morning after a fatal shooting that in the 600 block of East Benton Street.

According to Joliet Police it happened at 10:18 AM when shots were fired. On arrival, officers found the man lying in the street, injured from a gunshot wound to the head. Emergency crews swiftly transported him to the nearby Silver Cross Hospital, where medical professionals sadly pronounced him deceased at 11:46 AM.

The identity of the victim is currently being withheld until his next of kin have been notified.

An investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
