JOLIET, Ill. – Local authorities are continuing their hunt for a suspect who remains at large following a massive manhunt Tuesday that sent parts of the city into a shelter-in-place.

It began yesterday after Joliet police received a distress call for assistance from neighboring departments involved in a high-speed chase of two stolen vehicles. The pursuit was linked to a group of four male burglary suspects.

According to law enforcement officials, three of the suspects were successfully apprehended after they hastily abandoned the stolen vehicles and fled. The arrested individuals are 21, 20, and 16 years old, all residents of Chicago.

As a precautionary measure, residents of Joliet were urged to shelter in place for over five hours while the manhunt was ongoing. The order was eventually lifted by authorities once it was determined that the fourth suspect had managed to flee the area.
