Results from Ohio’s opening weekend of wild turkey hunting
COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio wild turkey hunters checked 4,367 birds during the opening weekend of the spring hunting season, April 20-21, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Wildlife. In 2023, hunters harvested 4,078 turkeys during the opening weekend. The three-year average during the first two days of the spring season from 2021 to 2023 is 3,758 birds. Not included in this year’s opening weekend results are the 1,785 wild turkeys taken during the youth-only weekend, April 13-14. ...

State St., this quaint pizzeria has reopened under management of the DiCarlo’s family directly. They posted on their Instagram over the weekend a preview of the new spot, with the announcement, “DiCarlo’s Pizza has reopened in Westerville! Stop on in! Grab a few cuts!”

COLUMBUS (WXIX) - A sable German Shepherd is now being taken care of after she was hit by a vehicle over the weekend on Interstate 670 in Columbus. According to the Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center, a good samaritan witnessed the incident and called the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office for help. Deputies located the injured dog and took her to the shelter for treatment.

Dorothy Lane Market baggers come out on top at state competition
Three local Dorothy Lane Market baggers swept away the top spots at the Ohio Grocers Association’s Best Bagger Competition in New Albany over the weekend. Fengning Liu took home first place, followed by Ashton Frye in second and Brooklyn Asher in third. Liu won $1,000 and an expense paid trip to Las Vegas to compete at the national level in 2025.

The Granville Inn's restaurant and tavern have a new look this spring that gives the spaces a modern flare while still preserving its historic features. The Granville Inn's Oak Room and Tavern underwent a renovation earlier this year ahead of the landmark's 100th anniversary in June. The renovation was a way to bring modern touches to the historic inn, said Ben Schulman, the inn's food and beverage director.
