Aiken Master Gardeners Association awards two local high school students with scholarships
Two local high school students have been awarded $1,500 scholarships by the Aiken Master Gardeners Association. The group offers scholarships each year to high school students who have been admitted to a college and plan to major in a field relating to agriculture or horticulture. Scholarships are a minimum of $1,000 and will only apply to each student’s freshman year.
Feeding the Fearless golf tournament raises funds for first responders

(WRDW/WAGT) - Katie Mode started her nonprofit, Feeding the Fearless, seven years ago to support the men and women working to keep our communities safe. “I am the younger sister of a law enforcement officer, and I just got to see firsthand how thankless their job was. Strom Thurmond softball visited Saluda for an elimination game in the South Carolina Class-AA State Softball Tournament. In the top of the third with the Rebels up 1-0, Leigh Anne Strock - who entered the game hitting .468 - drives home another run. Later on, Rebels up 4-1 Strock strikes again to make it 5-1. 'Armed and dangerous' suspect wanted in weekend shooting arrested, Batesburg-Leesville police say
BATESBURG-LEESVILLE, S.C. — An 18-year-old who was wanted in connection with a weekend shooting in Batesburg-Leesville has been arrested, according to police. Garden show is ‘educational tool’ to Aiken neighbors
AIKEN, S.C. (WRDW/WAGT) - A garden show in Aiken is bringing some of Aiken’s most beautiful gardens and plants to life. The Aiken Garden Show only comes every other year. “We have six beautiful gardens, we have over 20 vendors and then we have a juried flower show, which means they’ve been judged, and they can see all that and buy a ticket to see the gardens,” said Peggy Thome, president of Aiken Council of Garden Clubs.
Missing 14-year-old girl from Aiken found safe
A 14-year-old girl who went missing last week has been found safe. According to the Aiken Department of Public Safety, Aireahna Clark ran away on May 8th. Authorities announced on the City of Aiken, South Carolina Government Department of Public Safety she was found safe on May 13.
