Hundreds show up to St. Mary’s Church in Cranston on Thursday to pay respect to the Johnston man shot and killed by his neighbor last week.
T.J. May was a well-known youth sports coach.
The man's 15-year-old daughter was also injured but survived.
Many heartbroken family members, coaches, and athletes are gathering inside the church today to say goodbye to May.
Police say May was tragically shot and killed by his neighbor James Harrison last week.
They say Harrison also shot and killed his mother, Janet, then led police on a chase. Police eventually shot and killed Harrison.
May leaves behind a wife and two children, his son Evan played in his first baseball game without his dad Wednesday night.
A moment of silence was held before May's team took the field.
The Johnston community continues to be shaken by the loss.
"From a baseball standpoint he was a hard nose coach and from a family perspective he was just a great, great father,” said team manager Anthony Moy.
Janet Harrison’s funeral will be held Friday.
