Road work to impact traffic on Peoples Street in Johnson City

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — Road work on a section of Peoples Street near Knob Creek Road in Johnson City will impact traffic next week.

According to the city, lane closures will be in place while crews work to extend the right turn lane on Peoples Street from the First Horizon Bank entrance to Knob Creek Road beginning Monday, June 17.

The lane closures will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The work is expected to take around four weeks depending on the weather.

Drivers who cannot avoid the area should expect delays, according to the city.
