An underwater robot competition took place Saturday in Jenks.
Around 200 students took part in the SeaPerch Challenge at the Trojan Aquatic Center.
Teams were tasked with designing and building robots and completing three challenges designed by the United States Naval Academy.
"One is an obstacle course, where they have to navigate their seaperch, an underwater robot, through a series of hoops, " said Tulsa Regional STEM Alliance Regional Director Levi Patrick. "We have another one that a mission challenge, where they have all sorts of work that they have to do to map the seafloor and maneuver some sea monsters off of the laboratory. Then they also have a real life interview experience with a mentor where they really get to explain about their experience and how they made adjustments along the way."
Winners will have the opportunity to compete for a national title at the Naval Academy in May.
