Kiwanis provides bike helmets to fourth graders

Greene County fourth graders all received new bike helmets last week courtesy of the Jefferson Kiwanis Club.

Bicycle safety is part of phys. ed teacher Sean Thompsons curriculum, with bicycles available for riding during recess. Every May the school holds a Bike to School Day, as well.

The Kiwanis Club in cooperation with Des Moines Unity Point/Blank Children’s Hospital’s bike helmet grant program donated 125 new Bell bicycle helmets, one for every fourth grader.
