Former WPXI reporter Dee Thompson dies at 84
Retired WPXI reporter DeHaven “Dee” Thompson died May 9 at age 84. Thompson worked at Channel 11 from 1974 until his retirement in 2009. WPXI meteorologist Scott Harbaugh posted a tribute on Facebook, writing, “ ‘Dee’ was one of the kindest people you would ever want to meet. … Always a smile, a kind word, a quick wit, Mr. Thompson is [a] broadcast legend in Pittsburgh. My prayers are with his family at this time. What a wonderful human being.”

Update: Allegheny County under a flash flood warning Wednesday night
On Wednesday at 9:04 p.m. the National Weather Service issued an updated flash flood warning in effect until 10:30 p.m. for Allegheny County. "At 9:04 p.m., Doppler radar showed thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring," states the weather service. "Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas."
