Fee increases for garbage collection
Fee increases were approved at the May 8 meeting of the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners for both Madras Sanitary Service and Crooked River Sanitary. The rate increases will go into effect July 1. The last rate increase from both companies was in 2019.

Kealey Smith was a self-proclaimed frequent flyer at the Jefferson County Jail. She began doing drugs at the age of 14 and has been in and out of jail for related crimes.
