Helias soccer falls short of trip to Final Four

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Helias girls soccer team fell short of a trip to the state Final Four next week after falling to St. Pius Kansas City 4-2 in Saturday's quarterfinal game.

The Crusaders were down 3-0 at the half, but showed fight towards the end to get some points on the board. The first goal of the day for Helias came from Danielle Buker on an assist from Lily Winegar, plus Buker went unassisted to score goal number two.

The loss comes after a big time 3-1 district championship win over Southern Boone, marking the first district title since the 2017-18 season. The Crusader finish the year 16-10-1.
