Jefferson City woman charged after alleged assault involving a box knife

COLE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Cole County Sheriff's Office responded to a domestic disturbance involving a box knife early Sunday morning at a home on the 5600 block of Ravenwood Drive.

According to a press release from the Cole County Sheriff, the 911 caller reported a woman forced herself into the home and attacked the caller's boyfriend with a box knife.

When deputies arrived on scene, they went into the home and found a man with injuries, trying to get the suspect under control.

The woman was detained while deputies investigated.

The Cole County Sheriff says, the victim had minor injuries and denied medical treatment on scene.

After further investigating, a 33-year-old Jefferson City woman was taken into custody for first-degree assault, first-degree burglary, first-degree armed criminal action and first-degree unlawful use of a weapon and property damage.

The Cole County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident.
