A driver says trash caused her to crash in an early Thursday morning accident northwest of Jasper. It happened shortly before 2:00 on FM 2799, near FM 1747 in the Dixie Community.

Chief Jamie Gunter of the Beech Grove Fire Department said that the woman was driving a Chevrolet HHR and she told them that she swerved to miss a bag of trash on the highway. That resulted in the vehicle going off the highway and rolling over upside-down.

Gunter noted that another likely contributing factor was the wet pavement from a very light mist of rain in the air.

KJAS News will update this story when more information is released by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
